SAC DAWGZ!!!

Mt. SAC takes another win against Fullerton College!
Final Score in double overtime: 34-27

SAC DAWGZ!!!

Their quarterback got sacked 7 times!!!
T played great! Several tackles and he even got a sac on the quarterback. He's a big guy, strongest on the team and he's heck'a quick! Dalton caught 3 passes! and Bruce did a great job keeping the bench warm and cheering the team on!!! HA! He's a freshman! He'll have his turn next season.

We even had a fight in the stands. The game was at Cal State Fullerton and they put both teams fans on one side, using the 50 yard line to divide us. Well there was this crazy mom at the bottom talking mad smack to our boys on the side line. She was trying to egg them on and started talking about how she was from the Bloods. Totally Ghetto! Then she started going in front of our fans talking smack. The next thing I know 3 of my Samoan girlies (good little LDS girls) go up to the lady and her daughter and start throwing (and landing) punches!!! Then some guy goes after the girls and starts swingin! That's when our Samoan boys went down and almost threw the guy over the railing onto the field!!! It was crazy and kind funny (I know, I'm sick in the head). The good thing is no one got in trouble and Myra (LDS Samoan girl) walked away swinging a braid (hair extension).
We didn't hear any more from the Ghetto mom or her daughter and we got it all on tape!

I'm glad that we are friends with the Samoans. Ben loves that I am always with the boys because he knows he never has to worry about me. T always tells everyone that he's my body guard. HA!

It is true what they say about Samoans though: "They are the most kind hearted, sweetest people, but don't get on their bad side!"

Now we go on to play College of the Canyons for the So Cal Championship!
One more game till the CCCAA State Championship!
Another great game! Thanks boys!

So Cal Football Bowl

So last night we had so much fun at the Southern California Football Bowl. Mt. SAC Mounties played against the Hancock Bulldogs and we creamed them!!!! The score was 52-14. It's not so unusual for us to win by such a big margin but you'd think playing in the Regional Playoffs Quarterfinal game, that it would be closer. We have so much fun at the games and I've found a new love for football. The past 11 Saturday nights have been dedicated to attending these games. I haven't missed a single one!

Me and Ben - Xochilt and Mama Rose
The Finacial Aid Mamas & Aunties

We were undefeated (8-0) and ranked #1 in the state and nation until two weeks ago when we played Cerritos and lost 38-44 in triple overtime. It was a tuff game! We not only played against Cerritos (a very dirty team) we also played against the refs. For some reason the refs don't like Mt. SAC and we seem to always be playing against them too. Not just football but all of our sports teams.

Me and Ben - SAC DAWGZ!!!
Dalton and "Baby" Bruce

So after the Cerritos game we played Chaffey and won 34-17 which put us ranked as third. I don't really understand how we went from 1st to 3rd for just loosing 1 game but I'm still learning. Well third-seeded Mt. SAC (10-1) will face second-seeded Fullerton (10-1) in the semifinal round of the Southern California Regional playoffs at Cal State Fullerton on Saturday.
Windy - Faith and Grandma
Mama Rose
Our boys have done so well and have much to be proud of.

T, Vai, Dalton & "Baby" Bruce - SAC DAWGZ recieving trophy for Quarter Final game

Our kicker Jacob Harfman was named the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Male
Athlete of the Month (all sports) for the 2nd month in a row. He is an amazing kicker and kicked a 56 yard field goal shattering Mt. SAC's field goal record. His punt average is 43.6 yards and his long average is 51 yards. This kid is amazing!

Dalton, T, Me and "Baby" Bruce - Lancer, T, Me, Dalton and "Baby" Bruce

Our quarterback Nick Lamaison was named the Southern California Football Association's Central Conference
Player of the Year!

Our head coach Bob Jastrub was named the
Coach of the Year.

In addition, four Mt. SAC offensive and five defensive players were named to the
SCFA's All-Central Conference
First Team.
Four offensive players and three defensive players earned Second Team honors. In all, 16 Mounties were named to the All-Conference teams.

Now to brag a little about my
"Little" Samoan boys.

Warrior Face - Me and T
T and Ben

Dalton Etimani was named one of the Offensive All-Central Conference First Team players. He wants to transfer to Texas and is hoping for a scholarship offer from them.
And Uafailenemoe Tenise Uelese aka "T" has been offered a full ride scholarship to Cal Berkley and Arizona. Other Universities that are actively looking at him are, USC, Kansas State, Oregon, Colorado, Utah and BYU. The coach told me that he would have made defensive 1st team but he missed 3 games in the middle of the season from an injury. He was told he'd be out for the rest of the season but nobody is going to tell T no! He got back in after 2 weeks of therapy and played the rest of the season with a torn ACL, sprained ankle and a broken toe and pinkie! I love this guy! I tried to tell him to listen to the doctors and the trainers and take the rest of the season off so he could play in the next level but his response was that Mt. SAC is his team right now and they need him. You go T!!!
And "Baby" Bruce Seumanutafa is playing his first year at Mt. SAC. His famous quote is, "I'm only 17!"

I am so proud of these boys and proud of myself for actually giving Football a chance and finding out that I actually love it!

Another New Addition...

Yesterday at noon my sister calls me to see what I was doing. I told her I was working and asked what she was doing. She said she was on her way to the hospital to have a baby!!!
I was shocked because the baby wasn't due till the 25th. But the flood gates opened and the contractions started. Well I told her to keep her legs crossed till 8:00pm because I wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital till then. She laughed. I really wanted to be there because I was there
when my niece Kerry was born.
Well we got to the hospital at 8:00and after 5 minutes of being there, Uncle Ben was kicked out and I got to stay with my sisters husband. This time I watched the whole thing (Thanks for waiting Sis). I was fine the whole time till I saw the rip! For some reason I just keep picturing that in my head and I get very queasy. Then after only four contractions worth of pushing,
a new baby girl is born!

Happy Halloween!

So this has been yet another busy weekend but a very good weekend so far.

Halloween was a ton of fun. The only sad part is that we didn't carve pumpkins this year. Ben was Elvis this year and I was Lilo (Elvis's #1 Fan). We had a ton of fun. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Then this morning Ben and I went door to door passing out door hangers for YES on Prop 8. We all met at the Bishop's house before going out to our different locations. The Bishop was quoting one of the Apostles (I don't remember which one, I think it was either Bednar or Packer) but he said something like, "How we work in the next 3 days will determine the outcome of prop 8". It was really exciting to hear this especially after seeing how many members from our ward and the Tongan ward had showed up in the morning and all the people out on the streets holding signs and those honking their horns in support.

This afternoon we went to, "The BIG Game" (football) at Mt. SAC. Our "Little" Samoan boys are on the team so I've gone to every game they've had so far. One of the boys calls me their "Lucky Charm" because they've won every game so far. I really knew nothing about football (NOTHING!) before this season started. I actually loathed football. Now, after only 8 games, I am one of the loudest fans and today I was even explaining the game to my friend Jackie. Today's game was really the "BIG Game". Currently Mt. SAC Football is #1 in the state, and is #1 on the JCFootball.com/JC Gridwire National Poll and the California Community College Football Coaches Association Poll. We are undefeated and today we played El Camino, who also was undefeated.

Final Score: 26-21, SAC Dawgz! Still #1 and still undefeated!

It was an awesome game and we really had a ton of fun watching and cheering for all the boys.
After the game Ben and I continued to pass out door hangers. It was fun doing it in the rain while counting the seconds between lightening and thunder. We finally finished and went and bought him a new suit from Walmart. Yeah, Walmart!?! Did anyone know that Walmart sold suits?! We didn't but were excited to find Ben a perfect fitting suit for under $80 bucks!

Well the reason we had to get Ben a suit is because he is giving our little nephew, Everett, a blessing at church tomorrow. None of the pants from his suits fit him and I really didn't want him to wear an unmatching suit, so we decided to go out and get a new one. Our only problem was that it was 9pm when we decided and the only place we thought we'd have a chance to find anything was Walmart. And boy, did we get lucky! It's actually a pretty decent looking suit. I'll take a picture of him tomorrow and add it to this post.

So yeah, the past couple of day's have been crazy busy and it doesn't stop tomorrow. We are doing phone calls for prop 8 all morning, going to the blessing and coming home for more phone calls.

I'm so excited! Doing the Lord's work is so amazing. We really are so very lucky! No. Not lucky, we are, so very blessed!
