Peanut Get's a Hair Cut!

Peanut finally got a long needed haircut. We wanted to wait until the weather got warmer and when Ben finally had some time. We now call him the "Corduroy Pup" because the trimmers leave trails on his fur and he's soooo soft. This is his before and after picture. I bet he lost at least a 1/2 pound.

Meet the newest member of our family!
Just kidding Ben got really creative with the left over fur.

T-Rex

We Love You T-Rex!

Last night after work and school Ben and I went over to Mom and Ron's to visit. Mom had informed us that Rex was not doing so well. We all knew he had been coming to the end of his earthly life but it was so sad to see him confused and in pain. Mom told us that she and Isaiah had discussed that as soon as he couldn't walk anymore they would put him to sleep. After spending some time with him last night, it was decided that we would take him to the vet today so he could return to Heavenly Father.
A few hours after we left, Rexy started crying in pain and was vomiting. He couldn't walk or sit down. At about 10:00pm last night mom called Ben and asked him to come over because she felt it best if they could take Rex right then. It was a tough decision but the most humane one. Mom, Aunt Donna, Ben and Jon, were all with Rex at the Upland Emergency Pet Clinic when Rexy fell into a deep sleep. But, when Rexy wakes up we know he will be with Heavenly Father and Elvis and lots of other friends. I'm sure Rexy is up chasing his ball, sunbathing and lapping up water from Heavenly Father's swimming pool right now.

Rexy joined the Winters family the summer of 94. At the time Isaiah was 8 and was obsessed with dinosaurs. He choose the name T-Rex for his new puppy. Since then T-Rex has had many nicknames such as Rexy, Old Man and Mentally Retarded Dog (thanks to Ronald). He was such a good loyal dog and he loved playing catch. Ben remembers taking him to Magnolia Jr. High and throwing his ball as far as he could and Rex would run after it for hours. My favorite memory of Rex is when we would go outside to pet him. He would grunt and shove his snout between your calves and just sit there and enjoy the scratch.

It was really nice to say goodbye to Rexy. We know he is young and happy again and that we will be able to see him again someday.

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

What a wonderful day! Today couldn't have been more beautiful. I think that it was Heavenly Father's way to celebrate this Easter day with us Southern Californian's! Ben and I had a really great day. We went to Mom and Ron's ward for Easter and we were able to see many people that we haven't seen in quite sometime. Then we went to Papa and Nana's for "lunner" and lots of fun. My sisters and their families were there, Eric and his brother's were there and Ben's dad and brothers were there. I hope everyone had as great a day as us. Enjoy the photo's!

I Love My Ben!!!

I really think that I have the best husband that I could ever have. Ben and I are so perfect for each other. I just love that man so much. He loves that I love him so much too. He did something really special for me last night and I know it may not seem like a big deal but I was so excited when I got home and saw and empty kitchen sink! The dishes have been piling up (mostly Tupperware from lunches) for the past week (we don’t have a dishwasher). I usually try to do them every night but lately I've been so tired from work (6 days a week) and school that I just want to veg when I get home. I was really planning on doing them last night because I actually got home early (7:45pm) and the only other thing I needed to do was type out some invoices for houses we clean. So I walk in the house expecting to see "another job" for me in the kitchen. Arrrrgggg!!!! But instead I saw an empty sink and drainer! "Be still my beating heart!" I think I even saw a couple sparkles of light coming from the sink. I LOVE HIM! It was really such a wonderful feeling. I just love that man! He knew how much it had been bothering me and he found the time in his busy schedule to do that chore for his little wifey. When I heard him come home, I ran out to the driveway to tell him how much I love him and how grateful I was for what he did. I think that he was more excited to see my reaction then I was that the dishes were done. He loves to make me happy and I love him for that.

Jon and Kate + 8

This is my absolute favorite show in the whole wide world. That really means a lot because I hardly watch any television. I try to never miss an episode and a few weeks ago I missed the Christmas episode and I am still trying to find it online. No luck. I think the reason I love the show is because I feel that we have a lot of similarities. Jon is 1/2 Korean and 1/2 white (like me), Kate is white (like Ben), Kate tries to cook all organic (like me) and Kate is an R.N. (like Ben will be). Also since Ben and I are getting a late start, we really are hoping for multiples because we really would like a big family. Having multiples would "getter done" much faster. I know it sounds crazy. But the way that I look at it is that there are many spirits up in Heaven waiting to gain a mortal body. And if Ben and I are willing to supply those mortal bodies and raise lot's of babies why not send them to us. We have always wanted a big family. But we'll take whatever Heavenly Father has planned for us.
So anyways... last night I almost missed another episode! I got off work at 7pm, we went grocery shopping, I made dinner real quick, then I had to watch this movie (Deer Hunter) for school. It's like 3 hours long! I was planning to watch it till 9:00 and then watch Jon and Kate + 8 then finish watching it after. But at 9:15 I realized what happened. I'm glad I didn't miss it because it was another 2 new (and really good) episodes. If you haven't seen the show, I strongly suggest you watch it. Monday nights at 9pm on TLC. It's a real hoot! In the 2nd episode Kate made an edible play dough for the kids. She gave the recipe real quick but I found it online. Also I found her recipe for "doggy chow" (not for dogs). Both recipes can totally be made all organic. Yum! I can't wait to make these for Kerry, Reagan and Ben! Enjoy!

PEANUT BUTTER PLAY DOUGH
Ingredients:
One 18-oz jar creamy peanut butter
6 tablespoons honey
3/4 cup non-fat dry milk
(Kate added a little flour to make it stiffer)

Directions: Mix ingredients together, using varying amounts of dry milk for desired consistencies. Knead it with fingers, forming into desired shapes, adding other foods like M&M's or peanuts for eyes, mouths, etc.
Storage: When not using, MUST be stored in an airtight container.

PUPPY CHOW
Ingredients:
9 cups Chex® cereal (any variety)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup peanut butter
¼ cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups powdered sugar

Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside. In 1-quart saucepan, heat chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter over low heat, stirring frequently, until melted. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
